Diego Alba Venero is a beamline scientist for the ZOOM instrument at the ISIS neutron and muon source at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. This is a national laboratory within the UK Science and Technology Facilities Council. His research career has been developed between the University of Cantabria, where he obtained his Ph.D. in Physics, and the ISIS Muon and Neutron Source at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. In addition, he has carried out numerous research stays and experimental visits in other research centers such as Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Aragon (Spain), the Diamond Light source, the Imperial College London (UK), the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (USA), the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility , the Institut Laue-Langevin (France) and Spring 8 (Japan). His main research interests are in the field of nanomagnetism, in particular magnetic nanoparticles, nanostructures and topological materials.
