J.J. Gómez Cadenas is an Ikerbasque Research Professor at the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC). He is neutrino physicist and the director of the NEXT experiment, which seeks to demonstrate that the neutrino is its own antiparticle, in the Canfranc Underground Laboratory (LSC). He also directs the experiments that propose to study the coherent scattering of neutrinos in the LUND neutron spallation source ((together with J. Collar and F. Monrabal). Cadenas is a co-recipient of the ‘Breakthrough’ physics prize, as a member of the K2K and T2K collaborations that contributed to the discovery of neutrino oscillations.
