J.J. Gómez Cadenas es profesor Ikerbasque en el DIPC. Físico de neutrinos dirige el experimento NEXT —que busca demostrar que el neutrino es su propia antipartícula— en el laboratorio subterráneo de Canfranc (LSC) y así como los experimentos que propone estudiar la dispersión coherente de neutrinos en la fuente de espalación de neutrones de LUND ((junto con J. Collar y F. Monrabal). Es co-recipiente del premio Breakthrough the física, como miembro de las colaboraciones K2K y T2K que contribuyeron al descubrimiento de las oscilaciones de neutrinos.
